FAQ'S
What areas do you serve?
I work primarily with people in mid or later life in the Seattle area.
What are your rates?
Activity/companionship visits are typically $60/ hr. Care coordination and care management are typically $120/hr.
How long are visits?
It depends on needs and often varies between 3-5hrs. Visits are a minimum of 3 hours, and when necessary (usually medical related) I can be with my clients for up to 12 hours.
Do you drive clients to appointments or errands?
Yes. When appropriate, I accompany clients using their vehicle or my own for appointments, errands, and outings.
Are you insured?
Yes. Rainlight Care carries liability insurance.
What happens if needs change over time?
Support can evolve and fluctuate. Some people begin with companionship visits and later add care coordination as needs become more complex. There are also instances that may require more intensive time for several weeks, then less as healing or mobility progresses.
Does health insurance cover your services?
How's this for an ambiguous answer? Generally no. But also, maybe? Services such as companionship and care coordination aren't usually considered medical support so often not covered by health insurance. Some long-term care insurance policies do reimburse for certain services though. And we can always work together to check with your insurance company.
Do you work with people living in assisted living or memory care?
Yes. Additional companionship and advocacy can be valuable even when someone lives in a community setting.
Do you work with people experiencing memory loss or dementia?
Most of the people I work with are sharp and engaged—they just need a hand here and there keeping up with the complexities of modern life. That said, I do have experience working alongside people with neurodegenerative diseases.
How do families stay informed?
I respect the privacy and confidentially of all my clients. If/when families are involved from the beginning or along the way, we work together to develop a communication plan that's best for an all.
